This week seems to be catching up to me and even though it was short, I’m ready for a weekend and some Sabbath rest. Just before school started, all of the teachers were in Phoenix for a large convention. My sister lives in Phoenix so I drove out on Friday afternoon to spend a few days with her before the meetings began on Monday. Long story short, I was in the car for many hours alone going and coming. During that time, I had an Apple playlist playing over and over for the journey. Two songs really grabbed my attention and I would often go back and repeat them. They are a paradox of sorts…one questions faith and the lack of it, and the second affirms God’s faithfulness. This has been my experience the last couple of weeks. I’m waffling back and forth between what I know to be true, God is always and will always be faithful, and what life throws at me that makes me question my faith. “Faith is like a freefall sometimes,” to quote Chris Renzema, but God is always there to conquer the giants that invade our lives.
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
