While driving to school this morning, the light was amazing! The newly green hills were reflecting the bright sunshine but in the distance there were dark clouds making the hills even more vibrant. I’ve never been to Ireland, but I imagine the morning light is quite similar to what I experienced this morning. Beyond beautiful!
We are drawn to beauty in nature and in people. I couldn’t take my eyes off the hills this morning (I promise I was also watching the road too though) and it is the same way with people. Some people have a beautiful personality and I long to spend time with them. We are drawn to people who are kind and warm and welcoming. The more time I spend with God, the more closely I resemble that person of beauty. It doesn’t mean I am always kind, warm, and welcoming though…my horns still come out of my head more often than they should, but they do recede at a much quicker pace when I’ve spent a significant amount of time reading and praying. The trick is to offer myself grace when I mess up. Every day is a new opportunity to be that kind, warm, welcoming person God intended for me to be.
