…I think I’ll move to Australia.
If you are familiar with children’s literature, I’m sure you’ll recognize this phrase. In the book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Alexander laments about the events of his day and finishes each page off with a statement of moving to Australia. By the close of the book though, his mom has helped him come to the realization that some days just aren’t full of sunshine and joy and those days happen from time to time, even in Australia.
Unexpected events, frustrating circumstances, and mishaps are a part of our lives. This was one of those, I’m ready to move to Australia, kind of weeks when the blessings seemed to be overpowered by the evil of this world. Seemed is the important word because I know this is not true. The lyrics of Sanctus Real’s song, My God is Still the Same, have been ringing in my head this week, a great reminder for me that God is always working and will never stop moving.
I am the Lord, and I do not change. Malachi 3:6a NLT
