Happy Thursday Conejo Family! What a week this has been so far. Announcements from our local school districts have our area buzzing and our phone ringing. I’ve had to pause more than once this week just to remind myself to keep my focus. God is in control and I just need to follow His lead and open my eyes to His daily blessings.
In the newsletter today, you will find our preliminary plan for opening this August. It isn’t full of specific details because we don’t want to announce specific details too early when some state mandates are still unknown. However, we do plan to be on campus five days a week this year. Our classrooms will be capped, and it looks like we will have a waiting list for certain classrooms very soon. For us to be on campus, we trust that each family will do their part to follow our guidelines and not jeopardize our opportunity to be together face-to-face.
Here is what we know. The fall will look different. How different? Those details remain to be seen, but you will see from our preliminary plan it will be different. The big question everyone is asking…masks. It is still a question. However, whether or not masks are mandated, anyone who wants their child to wear a mask and can wear it properly, is welcome to do so. My place is not to debate the issue but to do what we can to be together on campus. Are you seeing a theme to my madness?? We want to be together for optimal teaching and learning. Again, I trust everyone will be respectful of each other’s beliefs on the “great mask debate” and show our community how to live together in peace. Here is an opportunity to shine a light! It is humbling to me how everyone worked together during our distance learning period, with such positive and grateful attitudes, and I know we will continue this spirit of camaraderie as we come back to campus.
Rest in God’s peace today my friends! I’m counting the days until we can be together!
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 NLT
