Our field trip this week to Children’s Hunger Fund included a new simulation experience. Wow. The simulation was so well designed and executed that I know God was the planner behind the plan. In fact, our guide basically told us the original vision was much smaller and less detailed than the end-product. Amazing what can transpire when we allow God to have control.
Just this morning, I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and noticed a post from a friend of mine in Montana. She posted a project her class completed for Encounter Bible. The students planned a make-over for their lunch area. Her post states, “It turned out better than we even envisioned which goes perfect for when we let God lead our lives he has big things planned for us and we can be completely transformed.” The lesson theme was perfectly lived out in their make-over.
I’m sensing a theme in my life this week. Let God lead. He always wants more for me. When I trust Him to lead me, He delivers more than I expected.
I know I’ve shared these verses before, but I need to hear them again this week.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9 NIV
Oh! That second verse screams at me. It should say, “In her heart, Jennifer Lew, plans out her course from now until eternity, but the Lord (when Jennifer stops insisting on being in control and loosens her grip on the reigns) establishes her steps.”
