Journey. How is your journey through life this week? My guess would be you’ve experienced some mountains and some valleys. Hopefully, more mountains than valleys but those valleys grow us in ways that allow us to appreciate the mountain tops and the wisdom we gain from the climb. This morning, I read Psalm 66, and it gave me encouragement and perspective. God won’t leave us in a ditch or stuck in a valley forever. He travels WITH us on the journey. Find the value in the lessons learned through refinement and valleys. Don’t forget to praise God when you emerge to a place of abundance AND while you are journeying through the fire and water! Sing a song of praise today! God is refining us into wiser, stronger people! I need to stop grumbling on the journey…
Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. Psalm 66:8-12 NIV
Bless our God, O peoples! Give him a thunderous welcome! Didn’t he set us on the road to life? Didn’t he keep us out of the ditch? He trained us first, passed us like silver through refining fires,
Brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit, road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back; Finally, he brought us to this well-watered place. Psalm 66:8-12 MSG
