Christmas time is here! I think I’ve started my view with this sentence at least once before, but I can’t help myself. I LOVE the Christmas season! Christmas lights, Christmas music, Christmas snacks, Christmas stories, Christmas gatherings, Christmas concerts…almost anything Christmas brings me joy! The Christmas season can bring a lot of stress though and sadness for so many people. This next month I’m going to concentrate on not taking on too much so I’m not able to enjoy life and looking for ways to bring joy to others. Is there someone you can bless with a card, a hug, a plate of cookies, an invitation, or just a warm greeting?
In 3rd grade yesterday, they were discussing Christmas and the reason we celebrate. After talking about presents, they came back around to Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season! He is our gift, present with us even in the absence of lights, music, snacks, and concerts. While I’m surrounded with all the Christmas “extras” around me, I don’t want to forget what Christmas is really about and that the gift of Jesus can be celebrated every day of the year!
For a child has been born – for us! the gift of a son – for us! He’ll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. Isaiah 9:6 The Message
Here is a little Christmas nostalgia for me. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/82i2XqRs1Jc?si=ik2Th9j44dNBdbw8
