Greetings Conejo Family from San Diego! I’m away for some classes and meetings this week and it feels like I’ve been gone for a month already. Each morning, I’m confused about the day because my daily routine is completely different. I’ll be very happy to be home tonight, but I have learned some new things and connected with friends this week which has been quite enjoyable for me.
On Wednesday, our morning worship speaker talked about how we grow as people not just mentally but also spiritually. For growth to happen, there are four essential elements: nourishment, exercise, rejuvenation, and community. His talk was perfect for me this week because I feel like I had the opportunity to experience all of these elements during my time away. My mind was nourished with new information and ideas. I haven’t put this new information into practice yet, but I’ll soon be able to exercise what I learned. Being alone in the evenings gave me time to rejuvenate myself with some solitude. And even though I was alone in the evening, my days were filled with discussions, shared meals, and community. It has been a week well spent. I’m thinking about how to intentionally incorporate nourishment, exercise, rejuvenation, and community into my life in the upcoming weeks. How about you, my friends? Are these elements present in your life right now?
Practice these things and devote yourself to them, in order that your progress may be seen by all. 1 Timothy 4:15 GNT
